Worton Elementary School’s Rebecca Bigelow was awarded top honor as Teacher of the Year at Monday’s 2016 Kent County Public Schools Awards Ceremony held at Chester River Yacht and Country Club.Instructional Assistant Denise Jones was Award the Support Employes of the Year Award.
County School Superintendent Dr. Karen Couch introduced the evening celebrating the county’s teachers by introducing former Teacher of the Year Liza Goetz. School support employees were honored, and the Standing Ovation Award was presented to the County Commissioners for their support during the school consolidation process. Teachers from each county school were presented with Teachers of the Year awards, and BOE President Jeff Reed announced the 2016 recipient Teacher of the Year, Rebecca Bigelow.
School Teachers of the Year are, Gillian Spero- Kent County High School; Katherine Hughes- Kent County Middle School: Tracy Hodge-Galena Elementary School; Laura Morrone-Henry Highland Garnett Elementary School; Stephanie Farinacci-Millington Elementary School; Lori Receski-Rock Hall Elementary School; Rebecca Bigelow-Worton Elementary School.
