JR’s Pub at 337 High St. in Chestertown

JR’s, also the Lemon Leaf Cafe, located at 337 High St. now has piano bar nights every Sunday in December from 5-7 p.m., and the Pam Ortiz Band will perform every ‘First Friday’ from 8-10 p.m. on a permanent basis in the back room.

Local musical artist, Philip Dutton has organized a group of players that include himself, Joe Holt, David Zipse, and Victor England.

Bios:

Philip Dutton – As a native of Louisianian, you will hear the influences from his home state in Philip Dutton’s repertoire, from Louis Armstrong to the Radiators, the Neville Brothers and Professor Longhair to Dr. John. He also loves to sing songs from some of the great piano playing songwriters like Tom Waits, Billy Joel, Randy Newman, and Jackson Browne. When Philip plays you never know when some other local singer may join him for a song or two.

David Zipse – is a master of the piano who plays many different styles of music and loves to perform. David has a large and varied repertoire of over 1000 songs from memory, including classical pieces, jazz standards, broadway songs, as well as classic rock, R&B  and Top 40 hits from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s 90’s and today, and he loves to play requests!

Victor England – is a veteran musician of 50 yrs. After graduating from Temple Univ with a degree in music he toured extensively in the US, Canada and Europe. He covers a wide variety of music from the 20’s to the 90’s. Victor currently lives in Wilmington DE and performs regularly in Delaware and Pennsylvania with a variety of musicians, vocalist and solo performances.

Joe Holt – is well known on the Eastern shore as a jazz pianist of the highest caliber.  He has played venues up and down the east coast and worked with many well known vocalists including Sue Matthews and Beth MacDonald.  Joe’s improvisations are legendary.
