In His Own Words: Rock Hall Mayor Bob Willis

December 5, 2013 by Dave Wheelan

Share

With very little attempt at humor, most people in Kent County would say these are very rocky times for the Town of Rock Hall and Mayor Bob Willis.

After failing in his attempt in April to fire Town Manager Ron Fithian, who also serves as a Kent County Commissioner, the first-term mayor is facing increasing opposition from his town council, town employees, and activist residents, with a recall election likely early next year to remove him from office.

In a recent interview with the Spy, the mayor shares his decision-making process in trying to terminate Fithian and reflects on his concept of what a mayor must do to serve his constituents and his community.
