While there could be some debate over which of Baltimore’s many private schools are the very best, it is fair to say that most people who follow the independent school scene there consider the Roland Park Country School at the top of the heap.
That is one of the many reasons that the Kent School community in Chestertown are extremely excited about the appointment of Nancy Mugele as their new head of school. After spending sixteen years at Roland Park working on student recruitment, and later as a senior member of the school’s leadership team, Nancy made a career decision to pursue a school leadership position with the help and support of mentor Jean Brune.
In her interview with the Spy, Nancy makes it clear that Kent School has and must continue to have its own distinctive identity, she is eager to implement a few key elements of the Roland Park curriculum during her tenure.
Nancy also talks about her philosophy on education, the uniqueness of Kent school and her personal excitement, and her family, of relocating the Kent County and has fully embraced the Eastern Shore lifestyle.
