In Memoriam: Professor Garry Clarke

July 4, 2016 by The Spy

Share

Former long time Washington College professor, dean, and interim president Garry Clarke died suddenly on Saturday in Chestertown at Shore Medical Center. Professor Clarke led the College’s music department and played a critical role in the Mid-Shore music community, including being the organist at Emmanuel Church and chair of the Washington College Concert Series.

At the time of Garry Clarke’s retirement, the Chestertown Spy highlighted his significant contributions to his community in 2012.  We have also included highlights from the unveiling of a portrait of Dr. Clarke in 2012.
