Health: New Outpatient Surgery Center in Queenstown

University of Maryland Shore Regional Health, University of Maryland Medical System and Queen Anne’s County will celebrate the opening of UM Shore Regional Health’s new outpatient surgery center on Thursday, December 18.

The public ceremony and reception will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the University of Maryland Shore Regional Health Surgery Center at Queenstown, Suite 300, UM Shore Medical Pavilion at Queenstown, 125 Shoreway Drive. Attendees are asked to RSVP to Cathy Wright at 410-822-1000, ext. 5222.

UM Shore Regional Health President and CEO Ken Kozel will host the event. Guest speakers are UMMS President and CEO Robert Chrencik, UM Shore Regional Health Chief Medical Officer William Huffner, and Queen Anne’s County Commissioner James Moran.

The $7 million Surgery Center at Queenstown will provide a range of outpatient surgery options for medical specialists and their patients in Queen Anne’s County and the surrounding region. Surgeons and physicians who will perform procedures at the facility are anticipated to be present.

Patient services at the 11,000-square-foot Surgery Center comprise a range of specialties and procedures including orthopedic, gastroenterology, urology, pain management and general surgery.
