Hospice of Queen Anne’s will be holding an adult grief support group beginning on Tuesday, October 7. The group will be held each Tuesday for ten consecutive weeks
from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Hospice Center located at 255 Comet Drive in Centerville. This group is designed for those dealing with the loss of a spouse, sibling or parent. Members are asked to commit to coming each week in order to benefit the most from the group.
Each meeting will revolve around topics such as: normal grief, sharing memories, and adjusting to and finding meaning in your loss. Sessions will include activities, grief education and open discussion. “Although many people feel apprehensive about sharing their pain with strangers, most participants find that only the first class is the most difficult. Once they attend the first time, they easily return,” says Grief Services Coordinator and Counselor Rhonda Knotts.
Registration for the group will be held on a first-come, first-served basis and there is a $25 enrollment fee that covers the cost of materials, however no participant will be turned away based on their inability to pay. There is no fee for the group if your loved one was our hospice patient within the last year. For more information or to register, contact Rhonda Knotts at 443-262-4109 or [email protected].
This grief support group is offered through the Hospice of Queen Anne’s Hope & Healing Center. The Hope & Healing Center is the program through which Hospice of Queen Anne’s provides grief support services for people of all ages.
