The Garfield Center for the Arts and River City Upholstery present “The River City Revue, a Cavalcade of Comedy” for two nights only: Friday, September 12 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, September 13 at 7 p.m. Admission is just $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
Conceived and produced by Bill Arrowood, this vaudeville-style show includes sketches and scenes that run the gamut from Monty Python and Steve Martin to Bugs Bunny! Sharing the stage will be the comedic talents of Jim and Diane Landskroener, Tim Maloney, Howard Mesick, Will Hughes, Carrington Ritchie and Billy Rudeck.
“We wanted to put on a show that was as much fun for us to be in as for the audience to watch. So we scoured the internet and our old comedy records for things that made us laugh and wanted to share them again with a whole room full of people,” says Arrowood.
Music will be performed by MusicLife¹s Bill Drazga, with guest appearances that will vary from night to night.
Additional sponsors include Atlantek Computers, Chesapeake Family Flooring and Evolution Healthcare.
The Imperial Hotel will offer pre-show happy hour drink specials for those that wish to loosen up their laugh muscles before the show.
In explaining the reason for the show, Arrowood offers that “those moments when we share laughter is what makes us uniquely human. With the exception of a nice ice cream sundae, this is possibly man¹s greatest gift to his fellow man.”
