Chris Gorycki, Kent School’s headmaster, announced the addition of three new faculty and staff members to Kent School. Jennifer Clegg has accepted the position of middle school science teacher. Ms. Clegg is an experienced middle school teacher who comes to Kent School from Green Hedges School in Vienna, Virginia. In addition to her science teaching background, Ms. Clegg has taught Humanities and the SSAT prep course for students in grades six through eight. Jennifer received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Elon University. She earned her Masters in Education from Marymount University.

Mr. Gorycki said, “It is a pleasure to welcome Jennifer to the Kent School Community. She brings a wealth of independent and public school teaching experience to Kent School. Her students and colleagues will benefit from her past teaching roles. It is also clear to me that she is committed to lifelong learning.” Ms. Clegg will work closely with lower school science teacher, Pam Deringer to ensure that the scope and sequence of Kent School’s science program provides the best possible preparation for our students.

Brittany Hester will take on the position of part-time librarian. She brings several years of teaching experience to the Kent School faculty. She is a cum laude graduate of Montclair State University. “It was clear from Brittany’s interview process and from reading her resume that she is committed to helping children learn. Her creativity and energy coupled with her experience in library curriculum will help make her transition to Kent School a seamless one,” Gorycki continued.

Finally, Dan Hines will join Kent School’s maintenance staff. Mr. Hines possesses a level of professionalism that will ensure the campus remains, safe, efficient and clean. Gorycki continued, “We are committed to excellence in every aspect of our school. Having an additional staff person to help us maintain and improve upon our campus facility is another demonstration of that commitment.

The addition of these three individuals to the staff completes an exciting summer of searching for and recruiting new talent to the Kent School community.I am genuinely excited about the coming school year. We have a professional group of strong educators who are committed to providing an excellent educational program for each one of our students. The future looks bright for everyone who is part of this wonderful school.”
