In what looks to be the most exciting RiverArts event yet, the incomparable Sue Matthews performs with piano-great Joe Holt in a set of music and magic to kick-off an afternoon of top-notch entertainment. Even though Sue and Joe are a tough act to follow, the irrepressible acting duo of Jim and Diane Landskroener will make the attempt. “I Like Art,” a ten-minute play by Joseph Sorrentino, will feature the Landskroeners at their comic best. The Mainstay’s own Tom McHugh will be acting as EmCee, and Bill Blake, everyone’s favorite auctioneer, will take the mike to drum up bids during a fantastic Live Auction.
Lucky bidders in the Live Auction can win a charter for twelve, complete with catered appetizers and wine and beer, on Felix the Cat catamaran, a seat in Vicco Von Voss’s always sold-out class at Academy Art Museum in Easton, an original canvas and acrylic collage by popular artist and instructor Cindy Fulton, a private sailing class for two, and much, much more.
All the while, you’ll be treated to the Open Bar and snacks prepared by RiverArts volunteer chefs, but don’t eat too much. After the last item in the Live Auction is won, dinner at Osprey Point, known for some of the best fine dining in Kent County, will follow.
Through the generosity of the Mainstay and our performers, we can offer this fantastic evening for only $100 per person. But, please buy your tickets early! Only 100 tickets will be sold, and tickets are going quickly. To purchase your tickets, go to chestertownriverarts.org, and select the “RiverArts at the Mainstay” link on the left, call us at 410-778-6300 or stop by the Gallery at 315 High Street, Suite 106, in Chestertown. We can’t wait to see you there!
