The CAWS Puppet Theatre will be presenting its show, “Saving Buster,” at the Kent County Public Library, 408 High St., Chestertown, on Wednesday, August 6th, at 11 a.m.
“CAWS” stands for the Chesapeake Animal Welfare Society, a committee of the Unitarian Universalists of the Chester River dedicated to programs promoting the humane treatment of animals. The Puppet Theatre is one of those programs, and “Saving Buster” is the first in a series of shows exploring various aspects of fostering animal well being. Its theme is one aspect in the proper care of animals, namely that of keeping them safe. Shows are intended primarily for early school aged children, K through 3rd grade, although older audiences also seem to enjoy them.
“Saving Buster” has been presented at the Unitarian Universalists of the Chester River, the Chestertown Writers Group, and the Chestertown Tea Party Festival.
Puppets Peter Pup and Katy Kat, along with Moderator Miss Gayle, look forward to performing at the library on August 6th. The show, which contains no religious content, is available for other interested groups such as elementary school classes, Sunday schools, Scouting groups and the like. For further information or for scheduling a performance, contact Alice Lindsay at 410-810-1332.
