Unitarians Talk of “Siestas and Sabbaticals” May 25

On Sun, May 25, 10 AM, Dr. David Newell will deliver a sermon entitled “Siestas and Sabbaticals” to the Unitarian Universalists of the Chester River, 914 Gateway Dr., Chestertown.

Many Americans work seven days a week, sometimes for several weeks in a row, without a break. Even in a normal work week, we often spend the evenings and weekends finishing up work that didn’t get done, or doing things to be ready for the following week.

If we are not doing job-related tasks, we work around the house and yard! The end result is often exhaustion, burnout, and preventable health issues.

Could there be some wisdom in deliberately engaging in a “systematic waste of time”?
Religious education for youngsters, as well as infant and toddler care, will be provided during our service. All are welcome. Please call for more information at 410-778-3440 or email [email protected].
