Bill Grimmette, the Olde Storyteller, will appear at the Garfield Center for the Arts at 1:30 PM on Saturday May 24 during the Chestertown Tea Party Festival.
Bill Grimmette transforms himself into three iconic figures reflecting different eras in American history – Benjamin Banneker (18th Century), Frederick Douglass (Civil War), and WEB Du Bois (Human Rights). These intrepid characters will tell the story of their contributions to the American Dream that made our nation the envy of the world. Using minimal pieces of period costumes, Grimmette will delight and inspire audiences with powerful stories that bring history to life.
This program is brought to the CTPF through the Speakers Bureau of the Maryland Humanities Council. Admission is free, and all are welcome.
