Major expansion of the Emergency Department at UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown remains on target for a late summer 2014 completion.
Workers began installing drywall this week as the “roughing in” of infrastructure such as plumbing, electrical and medical gas lines is also being completed. The $4.3 million project will increase space and enhance privacy of emergency patients.
The department will have 18 patient beds, including nine private rooms separated by walls, four observation beds and a private behavioral health patient room.
