The Washington College Music Department will present an evening of Latin Jazz with the Marty Knepp Trio on Thursday, February 13 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will take place in Hotchkiss Recital Hall, Gibson Center for the Arts, and is free and open to the public.
The Marty Knepp Trio features Clem Ehoff on piano, Jason Gano on bass, and Marty Knepp on drums. The group formed three years ago when its members were asked to perform as a warm-up act for a big-band performance and immediately formed an artistic bond. “It is as if we are having an internal conversation with each other while we are having an external conversation with the listener,” Knepp writes on the trio’s Webpage.
The Trio has released two CDs, “Dialogue” (2011) and “Lawn Maintenance (2013). Their concert at the College is funded in part by a generous contribution from the Kent County Arts Council.
