RiverArts For January

RiverArts is actually sponsoring three shows during the month of January. In the Main Gallery is the “Members Only Show” opening on First Friday, January 3, 5-8pm.

Member artists will be exhibiting their best work done over the previous year. There is no particular theme for this show so there will be many works in varied media covering  a range of subject matter and styles. There will be a People’s Choice Award. This show will run through January 24.

RiverArts’ first “Youth and Their Teachers Art Show” will also open on the 3rd in the Studio Gallery. The show will feature art work created by students from the Kent County High School, the Gunston School, and the Chestertown Christian Academy along with art by their instructors. The show will include art in various media and some of the work will be offered for sale.

Also included in this show are works by Kent County Middle School student winners  in the Reflections Arts in Education Program. This is a National PTA contest with  judging at the local, state, and national levels. The Kent County Middle School PTSA is organizing and sponsoring this effort. Students will be present for the First Friday Opening Reception. This show will run through February 2.

A change will occur in the Main Gallery for a week long exhibit featuring artwork  done by elementary students in the Kent County Public Schools, the Kent School, and Radcliffe Creek School . A reception will be held on Sunday afternoon, January 26, from 1-3 pm. This show will also run through February 2.

Chestertown RiverArts is located at 315 High Street, Suite 106.
Hours are Tuesday-Friday 11:00-4:00, First Friday 11:00-8:00,and Saturday
