In her last meeting on the Chestertown Council, Ward 3 Councilwoman Mabel Mumford-Pautz was honored with a key to the city and a proclamation declaring Dec. 16, 2013, “Mabel Mumford-Pautz Day in Chestertown.”
The proclamation also named the proposed park at Flatland Road and High Street, “The Mabel Mumford Gateway Park.”
Mumford-Pautz served 32 years on the council and is the longest serving member in Chestertown’s history.
Councilman Marty Stetson, Mumford-Pautz’s seatmate for the last six years, introduced the proclamation by comparing their relationship to that of an “old married couple.” See Video
Mumford-Pautz’s three sons were there for the proclamation.
