Rebbeca Flora, a member of the Chesterown Waterfront Task Force briefed the Council on Monday about the progress of the task force’s deliberations to date.
“As part of the committee I think we still have our hands full, we have a lot of work to do next year,” Flora said.
She said she wanted to offer reassurance that she and the task force will be consistent on a “public process” now that the town has committed $8,000 for concept planning for the waterfront.
“Because you did vote to invest in some design work we have moved from being a citizens advisory committee…to a committee that needs to have accountability to the public,” Flora said.
Flora said she’s been stopped repeatedly with questions about the task force’s work.
“So there is a need to report to you and to report to the public about this process,” Flora said.
The task force was formed almost a year ago and has yet to report any findings to the council after three scheduled briefings were postponed.
