Expert on Chicano and Chicana Writers at WC November 12

November 4, 2013 by Washington College News Service

Share

On Tuesday, Nov. 12, one of Washington College’s own will conclude the “Chicano/a and Latino/a Voices Series” at the Rose O’Neill Literary House, 407 Washington Avenue. Crystal Kurzen, a postdoctoral teaching fellow in the English department with expertise in Chicano and Chicana literature, will host a “Faculty Tea and Talk” at 4:30 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

As part of her fellowship, Kurzen is currently working on a manuscript about how Chicano and Chicana writers reflect themselves and their communities in their work. She recently published an article on Latina author Pat Mora in the academic journal a/b: Auto/Biography Studies.

The Chicano/a & Latino/a Voices Series has explored the diversity and energy of contemporary poets, novelists, nonfiction writers, and scholars. For more information, visit: www.washcoll.
