“I am happiest in the studio,” artist Barbara Parker notes. “Facing a blank canvas that is a field of opportunity and potential, I try to empty myself likewise, holding fast to the belief that there is a creative force that will come through me and land on that clean surface in great splashes of color.”
Visit Kent County Public Library’s Chestertown branch on Friday, September 6, 2013 to experience Barbara Parker’s paintings in person during the First Friday ART @your library reception. Between 5pm and 8pm, you can meet the artist, engage with others who support the arts, and enjoy family-friendly refreshments. All are welcome at this free celebration of the arts in Kent County.
The artwork showcased at the First Friday reception will remain on display at KCPL’s Chestertown branch during the month of September.
For more information about the First Friday reception or to learn how to apply to be a featured artist at KCPL, please call 410.778.3636 or visit the Chestertown Branch at 408 High Street, Chestertown.

Congratulations Barbara! I wish I could be there to see it… I miss seeing the library shows and applaud the library, arts community and community at large for continuing wonderful, enriching exhibits! It’s nice to be able to at least get a glimpse of what’s happening from afar 😉
