Gunston School Celebrates New “Molly’s Dock”

November 2, 2012 by Dave Wheelan

Share

On Saturday, October 20th saw almost 300 alumni, friends, and community members gather on The Gunston School campus to formally dedicate the newly rebuilt sailing dock to the memory of Molly Everdell. Molly’s parents, former faculty members Sarah and Tony Everdell, returned from Maine for the ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony. Surrounded by family members, friends, and decades worth of former students and colleagues, Sarah and Tony celebrated the memory of their daughter by sharing stories of her childhood on the Gunston campus, her love of the water, and her passion for sailing. The event was a warm and wonderful tribute to Molly, and the new “Molly Dock” will be an ever-present reminder of her spirit and all that her parents have done for the school to which they dedicated their life’s work.
