British historian, filmaker & TV personality discusses the British monarchy at Bookplate in Chestertown on Thursday, October 11.
He is a household name in Britain, not so much in the States, but you are probably familiar with him as a CBS news commentator for Princess Diana’s funeral and the recent wedding of William and Kate. His acerbic tongue has earned him the nickname of ” the rudest man in Britain.” David Starkey, part-time resident of Kent County, will discuss and divulge insights into the Britain monarchy at the Bookplate this Thursday, October 11, at 5:30.
In addition to his radio and television work, Starkey has written a number of books on the royal monarchy, including four on Henry VIII and his various wives, as well as presented several historical documentaries.
