Photographers both amateur and professional should be able to rely on their computers to get their digital photos when needed. Photographer and instructor Don Dement invites digital camera users to learn how to store and search their device to reliably retrieve images and make back-ups that will last. For those with volumes of photos, efficient and easy storage is invaluable. The one day workshop is Saturday, June 2 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and held at the Centre for the Arts in Centreville, Maryland.
This is an interactive class that works through problem solving and will cover CD/DVD, hard drive and cloud storage. There will be discussions and demonstrations of various programs to help, including Lightroom and free organizers. Students should have some familiarity with operating a PC or Mac.
Dement has taught digital photography and editing with high acclaim at Anne Arundel Community College, Chesapeake College, Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts and at the Centre for the Arts since 2002. He is an award winning photographer and exhibits his work widely.
Deadline for registration is May 26 and the cost is $80 for Arts Council members or $95 for nonmembers. Register by phone at 410-758-2520, on-line at www.arts4u.info or simply send a check to QACAC, Centre for the Arts, 206 South Commerce Street, Centreville, Maryland, 21617.
