The person or people who perpetrated this abomination should ostracized. No punishment is sufficient for causing a disruption of this magnitude. All schools were evacuated; parents were asked to pick up their pupils; helicopters flew over the county. How can the perpetrator receive any joy or thrill for the potential threat and massive inconvenience? Every threat must be treated as real, and the responders, teachers and administrators deserve thanks for keeping Kent County children safe from this potentially deranged person, or even worse, from a prankster

Janice,
Ah, cool it please. Everything you said did happen. But how about another read on the events.
If it was a prankster….a kid……disgruntled employee……cop wannabe…….drunk… nut….we may not discover anything …ever. This was an isolated, self indulgent act that may not happen again, ever.
IF there was a more sinister actor with true intent to harm and the means and ability to do it…………..COULD this not be just a test to see how the locals react? Again we get to guess.
So how about making a plan to quietly move the students & contact parents without any media contact? Just move the kids, get the cops out on the street watching. Get a neighborhood observation program going.
As you correctly state, every threat has to be treated as real. But why turn on the drum beat and fly the choppers? How about hang more security cameras, use the dogs from unmarked cars and watch for strangers around buildings? Stifle the news reports!
But no ostracism! Ostriches should not be used for human punishment.
