The Chestertown Arts League’s show for April 2012 is on the theme “Showing Off”. The curators have invited artists to push themselves in their favorite mediums and/or into a new or less favored medium. This show is in the tradition of the highly popular CAL open themed shows and promises to be uninhibited and perhaps audacious. The artists have been encouraged to harness or rediscover the kind of abandoned joy they felt as youngsters engaging in an artful project.
The show is all mediums but includes predominantly painting, photography and mixed media. A large number of artists will be showing including regional favorites: Terry Wolfe, Diane Blake, Ed Blake, Jody Primoff, Lani Seikaly, Evie Baskin, David Biehler et al.
The show will open Friday April 6 with a reception 5-8pm. The show will run through Sunday April 22. The CAL galleries are found at 312 Cannon Street in downtown
Chestertown. Regular gallery hours are: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Noon – 4pm and
Saturday 10am – 4pm. The gallery will also be open Sunday April 22, Noon – 3pm.
