A young Chestertown man is facing a host of narcotics charges that followed a two-month investigation by the Kent County sheriff’s drug squad.
Deandre Monte Smith, 25, of Calvert Street, was held today in the county detention center in lieu of $25,000 bond.
After getting a search and seizure warrant for Smith and a 2002 Honda Accord, deputies detained him on Schooner Way in Chestertown on Friday night.
“Smith was subsequently found to have in possession crack cocaine in amounts indicative of distribution, un-prescribed Oxycodone pills and a large amount of U.S. currency in small denominations,” the sheriff’s office reported.
“A search of a nearby associated residence produced several hundred dollars in small denominations belonging to Smith that investigation determined was drug sale proceeds.”
Smith was charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and Oxycodone, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
