The first day of school at Kent County High School after Christmas Break: a 14-year-old girl attacks a 17-year-old girl in front of the principal’s office and another girl and a boy begin getting drunk on the school bus taking them to classes.
Another Monday, at KCHS.
According to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office, “The assault took place by the main office . . . during the operation of school.” The attacker was suspended, charged and referred to the Department of Juvenile Services.
Before that, before classes, the sheriff reports that a 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy, both of Massey, opened an alcoholic beverage to begin their school day.
”The two juveniles consumed the alcohol on the school bus prior to their arrival to school,” states the official report.
Both were suspended, charged with underage possession of alcohol and referred to the Department of Juvenile Services.

Do you think it might be possible to write something POSITIVE about the school system?

No, Sarah, it’s much easier to highlight the negatives that become an active participant in adding more positives to the already large list.
