RiverArts announces its annual non-juried judged show, “The Artist’s Touch” opening First Friday June 5 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and running until June 28. This is a non-themed show open to all artists over the age of 18 working in original painting or sculpture. Artists may submit two works of art properly framed and wired for hanging. If there are unusual accommodations needed to exhibit the sculpture, please contact RiverArts. Submitted works must have been completed within the past two years and not previously exhibited at RiverArts. First, second, and third place monetary prizes will be awarded in both painting and sculpture. Presentation of awards will be at 6:00 pm during the opening reception on June 5th.
“The Artist’s Touch” exhibit showcases the participants’ best work reflecting how the artists express their view of the world. The show will feature original sculpture and original works in oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, and egg tempera.
RiverArts is pleased to announce that “The Artist’s Touch” will be judged by Barbara Nuss. Barbara is a well-known artist, writer, and educator. She has exhibited throughout the US and in Europe, including solo exhibitions in Washington, D.C. and New York. Recently two of her paintings exhibited at Arti e Amicitiae in Amsterdam, Holland. Barbara has written for North Light books and for The Artist Magazine; see her latest article in the Jan/ Feb issue. Check-in of artwork is Sunday, May 31 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and Monday, June 1 from 10:00 to 1:00 at RiverArts, 315 High Street, Suite 106. Artists may pre-register to reserve space in the show by visiting www.chestertownriverarts.org/exhibitions or by calling RiverArts at 410-778-6300.
