When most people think of innovation these days, firms like Apple and Google frequently come to mind, but increasingly so do smaller companies. And one example of this is the extraordinary investment the Eastern Shore company Dixon Valve and Coupling has made to maintain their leadership in an increasingly competitive field.
While it may seem impossible to add innovation to products that have existed for close to one hundred years, Dixon is indeed doing just that. The Spy talks to Dixon President Bob Grace and Innovation Center manager Jim Shifrin about the company’s major investment in product development, as well as the risks and rewards of thinking out of the box for this substantial international business.

It’s great to be able to peek inside Dixon to hear these smart, think-outside-the-box guys talk about innovation and leadership in their worldwide market. The invention of the 3D printer is clearly a game-changer that’s just starting to launch us all into an era we can’t even imagine. Thanks, Spy, for this outstanding video story.
