Ethel Virginia Cain 1916-2011

Ethel Virginia Cain of Millington, MD died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Chester River Manor in Chestertown, MD. She was 94.

Ethel Virginia Cain was born August 17, 1916 in Pondtown, MD the daughter of the late Dennis Alexander Clark and Mary Grace Bratcher. Mrs. Cain worked as a counselor for the Benedictine School in Ridgely, MD and retired in 1997. She was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Millington, MD, the Sarah E. Travis Chapter 50 Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Life-Study Fellowship. She loved her flowers, working in the yard, cooking and entertaining her friends and family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin R. Cain Sr., five brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by two step sons, Alvin R. Cain Jr. of Ridgely, MD, C. Damon Cain of Johns Island, S.C., four step daughters, Nilah Ann Briscoe of Baltimore, MD, Ellen D. Ashley of Bear, DE, Charlotte H. Murray of Millington, MD, Vickie V. Cain of Upper Marlboro, MD, one sister, Mildred Stryckning of Chestertown, MD, a devoted niece, Betty Henry of Millington, MD., and a host of many other family members.

Services will be held Monday, March 28, 2011 at 12 noon at John Wesley United Methodist Church in Millington, MD. A visitation will be held from 11 -12pm.

Interment will be held in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery following the service.
