I was very much against the farmers market reopening at Wilmer Park in April, because I did not feel proper distancing could be maintained.
I attended the market at East Coast Storage last Saturday morning between 8:30 and 9 am. It was very well organized; traffic was directed to parking; there was signage about only one shopper per family attending; there was maximum distancing as Mayor Cerino indicated; and because I was picking up a pre- order, I was able to get in and out quickly. I have since changed my mind, and feel the market can operate safely in this format.
Thank you to ECS, market manager and health department for working together so seamlessly to make this happen, and return a small , albeit, different slice of Chestertown back to life!

Many thanks to Chris, Julia King, the Health Department, vendors, and anyone else who was involved in making a modified Farmer’s Market a reality. As committed locavores, the market is a very important part of life in Kent County.

Well done, Chris
