Share

william-wisnomWilliam Wisnom, concert organist, gained national recognition after recent appearances at venues including The Washington National Cathedral, St. Thomas Church 5th Avenue in New York, Trinity Church in Boston, and Grace Cathedral in San Francisco. Described by Dame Gillian Weir as having, “. . . a brilliant technique and a first-class musical intelligence,” Mr. Wisnom was a featured artist at the Region III Convention of the American Guild of Organists in 2011 where he was named a “Star of the Future”.

William studied with David Higgs at the Eastman School of Music, as well as Donald Sutherland and Dame Gillian Weir at the Peabody Conservatory, where he earned a Bachelor and Master’s degree in organ performance. Mr. Wisnom is the principal organist at Resurrection Catholic Church, in Burtonsville, MD.

The Organ Concert at Emmanuel Church will be on October 21, 2016 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $20 at the door (students $5).

Emmanuel will offer additional organ concerts on January 13, February 17, March 17 and May 5th. Please call the church office at 410-778-3477 if interested in buying a season ticket.

In 1993 a two-manual mechanical action organ instrument of 23-stops, 29-ranks, built by Harrison & Harrison of Durham, England, was installed in the north wall recess. During that year a number of special services and concerts celebrated the installation of the organ. Emmanuel continues to celebrate its wonderful instrument with this concert series.
