RiverArts is offering a full schedule of children’s workshops, adult classes, as well as its popular Creative Lives series in the upcoming months.

The Creative Lives series resumes October 20, at 6 pm, with John Schratwieser, Executive Director of Maryland Citizens for the Arts, past Director of the Prince Theater in Chestertown. We are hoping he will include a song (or two) along with his talk. Refreshments are provided, cost is $20 ($15 members).
Workshops for the younger ones include a Matisse-inspired art project on November 12 entitled, Crazy Color and Collage, Glass Painting for Families, December 10, which includes a goblet for adults and a mug for kids, and Milk and Cookies for Santa, in which participants paint a design on the provided pottery cup and plate- two sessions: November 19 & December 5.
The RiverArts Photo Club meets at 7 pm, every fourth Thursday in KidSPOT. It’s a great way to meet like- minded members of the community, and progress as an artist. Free and open to everyone.
A one day IPhone photography workshop on Sunday, November 13 with award winning photographer Karen Klinedinst will give you the chops to create, edit and fine tune your photos directly on your IPhone.
Life Drawing sessions are held every Monday afternoon, 2 – 5pm at RiverArts. It is an opportunity to practice your drawing skills with a live model. Cost is $10 in advance, or $15 drop in. All are welcome.
Instructor Fredy Granillo will offer Talavera for Potters,4 sessions beginning November 1.It is a decorative pottery workshop. Pottery is provided, or students may bring their own.Open to all skill levels.
Have fun decorating your home walls, personalizing accessories- cutting boards, glass – and create gifts for the holidays in Basic Oil Painting Using Tole Techniques, with Holly Geddes. Learn how to hold and use a variety of brushes. Classes begin late October.
