daryl-davis-piano-hrThe Daryl Davis Band brings rocking blues and boogie-woogie to The Mainstay in Rock Hall, Maryland on Saturday October 8 at 8:00 p.m. The concert is the capstone of Rock Hall’s annual FallFest, a daylong celebration of family, community, and oysters. Admission is $20. For information and reservations call 410-639-9133. Information is also available at the Mainstay’s website https://www.mainstayrockhall.org.

Daryl Davis is a vocalist, guitarist, composer, and masterful keyboardist who plays old-time rock ‘n roll, blues and boogie-woogie. Born in Chicago, the electric blues capital of the world, he received a Bachelor in Music degree from Howard University. He has worked extensively with artists such as Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis and Percy Sledge.

The great boogie-woogie, blues and rock n’ roll pianists Pinetop Perkins and Johnnie Johnson all praised Davis’s authenticity playing in styles that were popular 20 years before he was born. He has made a name for himself playing his own take on the styles of such pioneers as Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis and Fats Domino. Davis played in The Legendary Blues Band (which was the Muddy Waters band) and was a regular for many years in the piano slot for Chuck Berry’s band.

He will be joined on the Mainstay stage by Russ Rodgers on bass, Keith Grimes on guitar, Anders Eliasson on drums, and Seth Kibel on saxophone.

Davis is always a Mainstay favorite and reservations are a must.

The Mainstay (Home of Musical Magic) is the friendly informal storefront performing arts center on Rock Hall’s old time Main Street.
