There has been a good bit of local talk about Sen. Thomas Middleton’s proposed amendment that would keep medical services intact at the Chester River Hospital for two years. Middleton has suggested that Senate Bill 707 be changed to create a study workgroup to discuss the future of the state’s smaller hospitals, particularly on the Eastern Shore.
And while the Middleton amendment strategy has been seen as a very encouraging sign to those in support of the “Save our Hospital” movement in Chestertown, it seems no one has ever actually seen a copy of the amendment. Until now.
