Last Thursday night, a number of leaders of the “Save our Hospital” campaign heard directly from members of the Eastern Shore Delegation as well as State Senator Tom Middleton from Carroll County on joint efforts to place a freeze on possible reductions in inpatient service at the Chester River Hospital in Chestertown as well as other rural health centers in Maryland for one year.
Middleton’s proposed legislation, which has been endorsed by UM Shore Regional Health leadership (see related article here), the owner of the Chestertown facility, would call for a one-year study on how the state will manage and maintain its rural health centers.
A citizen Spy was able to video the meeting and it passed along as a public service to the community.
This video is approximately fifteen minutes in length
Stephan Sonn says
The hospital that this part of the Eastern Shore needs is one that has in-patient facility. That is a given and non-negotiable.
That is not what I am hearing. With that in mind I would hate to think that this new activity is a whitewash for old news.
