While wonderful exhibitions come and go at the Academy Art Museum, sadly very little of that fabulous art stays on the Eastern Shore. As a result, the AAM has increasingly made it a priority to expand the museum’s permanent collection as well increase its local capacity to educate the community on the importance of art from all eras.
To celebrate those important purchases, the Spy will periodically highlight a new addition with curator Anke Van Wagenberg. Our fall selection this fall is a lithographic print by the realist painter George Bellows that dates from 1917.
