Interim Washington College President Jack (Jay) Griswold, will be the featured speak March 24 at the Academy of Lifelong Learning’s Learn at Lunch program on Griswold will talk about why he believes in the personalized liberal arts education the College has provided for 232 years and share his thoughts about the College’s potential for growth—including a new academic building and expanded waterfront campus. It is exciting times for the future of Washington College and Griswold is fully engaged.
His association with and commitment to Washington College dates back more than two decades to the fall his daughter Sarah (class of ’94) arrived for her freshman year. He first joined the Board in 1992 and served as Chair for six years ending in 2007. He also chaired the successful seven-year Campaign for Washington’s College, which by 2003 had raised $103.4 million. “As a parent of a Washington College graduate, I know first-hand the transformational experience that our dedicated faculty and talented staff provide,” he wrote in a message to the College community. “I am committed to preserving and enhancing that experience for future generations of students.”
Now a partner with Black Oak Associates, an integrated property development, redevelopment and investment-management company operating in the mid-Atlantic, Jay Griswold is a former Senior Advisor and Director of Brown Investment Advisory, a former Chairman of Alex. Brown Realty Advisors, and a co-founder and Managing Director of Armata Partners.
