“… Larry Hogan won a race that virtually nobody was expecting to be competitive.” In other words the writer believed and relied upon the opinions of Mr. Brown and the democrat party majority that Mr. Brown was a shoo-in, because of his party affiliation. Apparently those supporters thought that the generally short memories of the electorate would not remember to react to the rain tax and how badly Mr. Brown flubbed his assignment concerning the rollout of the affordable care act provisione in Maryland. Well, lots of people not only remembered, but were appropriately incensed that the lieutenant governor was so inept that his one critical assignment was simply too much for him. That is’nt something that people, even staunch democrats, can just lay aside. Good riddance for the benefit of the Maryland people. Congratulations, Mr. Hogan — now, get ready to get to work!!
