“Traditional Reiki I — Find Wellness Within You,” a one-day class offered at the UM Shore Regional Health Center for Integrative Medicine in Easton, is set for Saturday, October 18, according to Monika Armbruster, director of the Center.

Dana Limpert, a Reiki practitioner since 2000 and certified master teacher who has taught Reiki to more than 200 people of all ages (including children), is the course instructor. Limpert has studied Reiki under Amy Rowland, a nationally recognized traditional teacher, and served as project coordinator for the Center for Integrative Medicine’s Reiki Hospital Project, an award-winning volunteer program.

“Reiki is a gentle touch therapy that accesses universal life energy to promote healing on all levels: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual, and does not interfere with conventional medical treatment or alternative therapies,” Limpert explains, adding that nurses completing the class may receive CE credit.

Anyone can learn Reiki regardless of age or health condition. It is a useful tool for a personal wellness program, and for people already in health care professions or care-giving situations.   Individuals completing this class will be certified through the USUI School of Natural Healing to give Reiki sessions on themselves and others.

For information regarding cost and registration, call the Center for Integrative Medicine, 410-822-1000, ext. 5851.
