First Friday at KCPL: Preschool Adventures & Line by Line

July 29, 2014 by Kent County Public Library

Share

On First Friday, August 1st, the Chestertown Branch of Kent County Public Library will host Preschool Adventures. This fun-filled program includes hands-on activities, art, and games designed to stimulate the imagination. Families with children aged 3-5 are invited to drop by from 5-8pm to enjoy the fun.

On First Friday, KCPL will also be showcasing its August art exhibit. Join us from 5-8pm for an artist’s reception where you can view Drawing Abstraction: Line by Line and meet the artist, Ken Warwick. In his artist’s statement for this exhibit, Mr. Warwick writes: “The charcoal and ink drawings comprising this exhibition were created over a period of ten years starting in 2004. During this time one thing has remained constant in the work: the importance of the freely drawn line.” This series of pieces shows ways in which the artist has explored his initial question: What is the simplest, most basic thing one can do to make an image?

Artwork showcased at the First Friday reception will remain on display during the month of August.

For more information about these events or to learn about becoming a featured artist at KCPL, please call 410.778.3636 or visit the Chestertown Branch at 408 High Street, Chestertown.
