The Mid-Shore Community Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of four new members to it’s Board of Directors: William “Bill” Brooks, Heather Guerieri, Kirk Helfenbein and Stuart Bounds.
The Foundation is honored to have the leadership and guidance of these individuals. The new members have diverse backgrounds and their collective experience and knowledge will be invaluable assets to the foundation.
Bill Brooks and his two brothers are the fourth generation to operate the J. M. Clayton Company in Cambridge, Maryland. The Clayton Company is the oldest working crab processing plant in the world and is a Chesapeake Bay landmark. Bill serves on the Board of the National Bank of Cambridge and is an Advisor to The George B. Todd Fund of the Mid-Shore Community Foundation.
Heather Guerieri has been the executive director of Hospice of Queen Anne’s, Inc. in Centreville,
Maryland since February 2007. Heather holds her certification in Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing as well as sits on the board for the Hospice and Palliative Network of Maryland.
Kirk Helfenbein is President of Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. with locations in Chestertown, Easton, Kent Island, Millington, Centreville and Annapolis. He also is involved with Shore Memorials, a granite and monument company, serving the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Kirk served as President of The Chestertown Rotary Club, Chestertown Elks Lodge, Ducks Unlimited and other local civic groups.
Stuart Bounds is a former President of the Mid-Shore Community Foundation and prior to that, he was President of Chesapeake College. Stuart serves on the Boards of University of Maryland Shore Regional Health and The Country School.
