Mayor Chris Cerino officiated the Chestertown Marina charette on Wednesday, May 28, to a packed house in the large boat warehouse on the marina property. Video #1 shows the Mayor’s overview of the marina’s finances since it became a municipal property, the reasons for purchasing it, and a graphic study of the complex property delineation itself.
Video #2 offers a photographic study of the highly degraded bulkhead and dock conditions plus dramatic images of the often occurring high tides and tidal surges in the marina and Fish Whistle Restaurant area.
The last video offers the Mayor’s suggestions leading up to the formation of five working groups to address: 1) docks and bulkheads; 2) Pedestrian flow through the marina; 3) Parking; 4) Travel lift and boat storage; 5) Greening opportunities. Each of the groups surveyed their particular areas and returned with some idea. An additional video of group suggestions will be forthcoming.

Editor,
Thank you to the Spy for giving those of us not able to be present a chance to hear the presentation of our Mayor. Having lived downriver, Chestertown’s waterfront was a frequent destination, for regattas, and refueling, and docking. I felt many of the suggestions well thought out, especially the needed dredging and raising of new and safe docks and slips.

What a fantastic presentation from Mayor Cerino! Thanks Spy for filming and posting. Any idea when the rest of the videos (public comments) will be made available?
