Hope Clark, a member of the Chestertown Diversity Dialogue group, conducts a focus group with young Calvert Street residents to determine the best place for a community garden. Clark approached the Town Council to use a small part of a city-owned vacant lot on Lynchberg St. (between Prospect and Calvert) as a community garden. The Council responded positively as did the neighborhood during Clark’s canvassing of area residents. The community garden will be prepared, planted and maintained by community volunteers. Fresh vegetables will be made available to the neighborhood. If you are interested in helping, contact Hope at: [email protected]
