As the saying goes, “God wants spiritual fruits, not religious nuts.”
Apparently there was a “religious nut” in the vicinity of Emmanuel Church on Sunday morning. As I approached my car after the service, I saw a paper on my windshield. My immediate assumption was that I was being reprimanded for parking too close to the yellow line. Not at all, what I found was nine pages of incorrect and misleading criticism of the Episcopal Church. It had also been left on the cars of other parishioners.
One of the many privileges of being an American is our right to religious freedom. What we choose to believe is no body else’s business.
How incredibly offensive it was to come from an especially inspiring service to find such a hate-filled message. Whoever left it would be doing us all an enormous favor to put his/her energy to a better use.

The same thing happened at St. Andrew’s Chapel in Sudlersville a few weeks back.
