After a long, snowy winter, spring is finally here! You’re undoubtedly getting out more, enjoying the warmer weather and investigating all the pleasures of living in Chestertown, one of which is surely the Friends of the Kent County Public Library’s semi-annual used book sale.
Yes, again this spring the Friends of the Library invite you to take advantage of the wonderful bargains you’ll find at their sale. Come browse through hundreds of books, fiction and non-fiction, everything from classics to popular romances to children’s books. Explore the selections of DVDs, games, music, and puzzles. The prices are so reasonable, most ranging from 25¢ to $2.00, that you’ll want to stock up. Wondering how to entertain the kids during summer vacation? We’ve got some possibilities. Considering what to read on those lazy Saturday afternoons? You’ll find plenty of options to choose from at the sale!
So come join your friends and neighbors at the Friends of the KCPL sale. Our hours are:
- Thursday, May 1, 5:30 to 7:30: Thursday kicks off the sale with the exclusive Preview Night. Members simply bring the invitation they received in the mail, and non-members may join at the door for the bargain price of $10 per person. Preview Night attendees will be among the first to take advantage of a large, diverse selection of sale items. Beverages and light snacks will be served.
- Friday, May 2, 10:00 to 8:00: We’re open late in honor of First Friday. Stroll up High Street and drop by.
- Saturday, May 3, 10:00 to 3:00
- Sunday, May 4, 10:00 to 3:00: Sunday is “box day”! Fill a box to the brim with your finds and pay a mere five dollars.
- Monday, May 5, 10:00 to 6:00: Monday, the last day of the sale, we aim to sell as many books as possible. You’ll find those final price reductions too tempting to resist.
So mark the dates and be sure to come to the Kent County Library, 408 High Street, Chestertown MD, to shop the Friends’ spring sale. We accept cash and checks. All proceeds benefit the Kent County Public Library by subsidizing the purchase of new books, helping to make needed upgrades, and supporting community outreach programs.
