Bruce Stevens is an accomplished organ recitalist with many years of experience performing both in the United States and Europe. He will be playing at the Emmanuel Church in Chestertown on April 11 at 7:30 pm.
Mr. Stevens received degrees in music from University of Richmond (1969) and University of Illinois. He then moved to Europe studying and performing in Copenhagen, Vienna, and London. Mr. Stevens was a finalist in several organ playing competitions and is active as a recording artist for Raven Recordings. He served for many years as organist at two different Richmond churches.
He currently teaches organ at the University of Richmond and is director of Historic Organ Study Tours (HOST) which he founded in 1994.
His planned recital will include works by Buxtehude, Couperin, Sweelinck, and Bach again proving that the organ is the king of all musical instruments.
Tickets are $20 ( $5 for students) A reception to meet Mr. Stevens will follow the recital.
