Character Counts! Kent County will host the 5th Annual Six-Pillar Essay Contest Awards Night on Wednesday, April 9,2014. Over 1,350 students participated. 33 county-wide winners have been selected from grades 2 through 12. The public will have an opportunity to hear a few thoughtful essays. All public and private schools participated.

This event, which will be held at Decker Theatre, The Gibson Center for the Arts at Washington College from 5:00 – 6:00 pm, is open to the Kent County community. Our guest speaker will Mrs. Tracey Rodney, Principal of Millington Elementary School, the 2013 Winner of Maryland Center for Character Education Award.

We welcome the community to join us at this event to demonstrate to the winners by their presence – that good character matters.
