Calling all creek freaks! Arm yourselves with nets, stopwatches and pH strips to find the answers to some pressing aquatic questions when Adkins Arboretum offers Aquatic Adventures for Homeschoolers beginning Mon., April 7.
What is a riparian buffer zone? How are aquatic plants and animals adapted to their watery environment? What is the relationship between precipitation, runoff, and aquatic habitats? Homeschoolers will explore the fascinating world of water through field studies of the Arboretum’s wetland and stream. Classes are designed for students ages 8–12.
Aquatic Adventures for Homeschoolers is held Mondays, April 7 to May 12, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Advance registration is required. The fee is $55 for members, $70 for non-members for all six classes in the series. A $10 discount is offered for siblings. Enrollment is limited, so early registration is recommended.
