The November 1st, First Friday Gallery walk features an open house for one of Chestertown’s newest galleries from 5-8 pm in Chesapeake Gallery at 357 High St. in downtown Chestertown, MD. Chesapeake Gallery will feature the works of Oggi Ogburn and Lauren Ludi through the month of November.
Award-winning photographer, Oggi Ogburn has been working as a freelance photographer for 30 years ,primarily in the music industry photographing countless recording artists. Ogburn’s images have been published in trade and consumer magazines ranging from Billboard to US News and World Report. Mr. Ogburn’s photography has also been the subject of countless exhibits at cultural institutions, including the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History; the Center for African History and Culture; the Brooklyn Museum of Art; Howard University; The African –American Museum of Philadelphia; as well as in Beijing, China.
“I may be known for my music collection but my favorite photographs are those that also capture American Culture,” states Ogburn.
The Brooklyn native graduated from Howard University in 1968 . It was during this time that Ogburn’s sister gave him an amateur camera and he taught himself much of the technical and artistic photographic techniques that he employs today.
Lauren Ludi is a passionate nature photographer who has traveled to the far corners of the world, capturing scenic views and exotic wildlife in places such as Hawaii, South Africa, and Antarctica. She is happiest with a camera in hand and the great outdoors at her fingertips. Lauren hopes to continue putting stamps in her passport as she travels in search of capturing ever more memorable images.
